Chapter 2


Huiting and Kailiang were very hardworking, and little Nicole was born to the couple. However, because Huiting was so engrossed in being a career woman, she refused to bear a second child to Kailiang. Kailiang had always loved kids and enjoyed mentoring them, so this was a huge blow to him. However, he kept silent and continued living his title as STD.

Time passed quickly Maryln's three daughters, Abby, Meifen and Xinlei, along with Nicole, quickly grew up to fine young ladies.


One night, Xiao Chin's good friend, Sharon, hosted a cocktail party. Kailiang and Huiting went together, and Kailiang also brought his sister, Elizabeth, a sweet and grammatically correct English teacher, along - hoping to find her a suitable man to marry. During the party, Kailiang tried to impress his wife by praising her, and in turn, Huiting told Kailiang that he had a 'nice' picture on the latest magazine cover.

Eli was left standing alone while her brother and brother-in-law bickered away.

Suddenly, a tall handsome young man approached her. Zhi Kai was one of the VIP to the event, and had noticed Elizabeth since she entered. They shook hands for the first time and sparks flew all over the place. (Erhm. Maryln and Patricia also met at the desert corner, eating very happily away.

After the cocktail party, Zhikai offered to send Elizabeth home (duh).

Midnight was nearing and the party is ending.

Huiting was looking all over for Kailiang but he was no where in sight. Feeling impatient and worried for Nicole (who had fallen in love with the dance floor and crazily dancing away with Zhenglin), she pulled Nicole home and ignored Kailiang's MIA.

At the same time, Maryln was also getting ready to go home. She gestured to Meifen and Xinlei, who were standing shyly at a corner all the time. Abby was no where to be seen, but Xinlei said that Abby had text her to say she will be going home late.

After much persuasion, Patricia finally managed to pull her brother, Zhenglin, out of the dance floor and made him go home. Yet as soon as they reached home, Zhenglin put on his skates and skated out again. Patricia starts to find it fishy that he was always going out at the late hours of the night, with the excuse of 'going out for fresh air'...


The night passed and everyone woke up bright and early to do their duties.

Feeling uncomfortable about her brother's disappearance, Patricia went out to the nearby park, hopefully to find her brother and confirm his unusual night activities. But unexpectedly, she saw something even more shocking...

Kailiang and Abby had arrived at their workplace together, in the same clothes as the night before...


Things are indeed getting suspicious...
