Chapter 3
CNY Part 1

Chinese New Year is here and the whole village basked in festive celebrations!


Patricia decides to send chinese new year cookies to everyone and ordered a 100 boxes from Joanne, a famous baker in the village. Because of the late orders, Patricia feels guilty and offers to have Zhenglin and herself help out in the packing of the goodies. Joanne happily agreed. Throughout, Zhenglin and Joanne worked especially well together as they converse passionately about their interest in dance.

The cookies were packed and here comes the problem of delivering. All three of them were tired and didn't know what to do. Joanne gave a call to her friend, Hafi.

"Hafi! Can you help us deliver some boxes of cookies around the village?"
"Hmm...basically right, I am free now but for all you know, I might be busy..."
"Well! Just a few houses..."
"Is Karol's house one of them?"
Joanne looked at Patricia and they both nodded.
"Yes yes, to Karol as well"
"Okay... for all you know, this is okay la I mean, we help each other out and..."
"Okokay thanks Hafi come by soon!"

Within a few moments, Hafi appeared with a guitar.

Zhenglin was curious and asked why he needed a guitar for. With passion, Hafi explained that it is a very emotionally attached object and it represents him very well. He would sing at Fort Canning at the sunset alone too. Zhenglin was very impressed, but what has that got to do with sending cookies?

Before he left, Hafi asked again if Karol was one of the recipients...


As he zoomed off, Patricia waved him goodbye, and then spotted a familiar backview walking with another girl...
